BL asked to design and cost a new Clean Room facility with a view to reducing the operational
energy costs and carbon footprint dramatically whilst minimising downtime of the facility.
With Mash Direct in the planning stage of building a new factory facility they ask BL to design and cost new chill and freezer rooms as part of their extension plan. The design included a loading bay area, a dispatch room and a freezer room all to be installed on a 20- week programme.
Working closely with the clients energy team BL developed a number of heat recovery projects which utilised a variety of hybrid heat pumps at the Cookstown facility
As the production at Mash Direct has grown exponentially over the past few years BL have had to provide an ever increasing Blast Chill Facility to cope with the increased volume and variety of freshly cooked produce. Retaining the simplicity of the cook and chill process has required increasingly innovative product handling and flexible control options to ensure that target throughput figures are met.
As the summer of 2014 approached the chilled water plant serving the Air Handling Units at George Best Belfast City Airport developed major service problems. A rapid replacement of 400 kW of cooling was required to deal with the peak summer load.
Commissioned in July 2013 the air conditioning system for this new multi storey hotel in central Belfast has its heating and cooling requirements met by Toshiba SHRM 3 pipe VRF systems.
The Movie House Yorkgate when it first opened in 1992 was fitted out with Lennox Roof Top Heat Pump packages. These units sat on the roof of the building and provided heating, cooling and ventilation to the 7 individual cinemas .
The University of Huddersfield needed to air condition new computer access study facilities at its urban campus. Previously similar building additions at this campus had been achieved without installing additional large plant. However, the remote location of the new library pods at the far end of a multi-storey, multi-wing complex meant that it was impractical and uneconomical to extend the central system chilled-water plant. Toshiba MMS proved to be the ideal solution.
